Seed Needs: A Seed Company on a Mission for Change
Seed Needs has been providing gardeners with quality seed products since 2010, shipping millions of packets to happy customers across the US. Our diverse offerings include flowers, herbs, vegetables, vines, wildflower blends, seed packet collections, and seed packet favors.
With the success of our brand, we have kept our promise to continually donate to different organizations and personally sponsor over 100 children worldwide each month. We are sincerely grateful for the support of our customers, without whom this would not be possible.
Our Seed Packets
Seed Needs packets feature beautiful illustrations that colorfully depict the varieties within. We provide the common and scientific names, seed quantity, and key growing information.
On the reverse side, you'll find complete growing instructions, including sowing details, sunlight and moisture preferences, and germination and growth details. We also include a QR code for easy reordering.
About Our Seeds
All Seed Needs products are non-GMO and untreated. Our seeds are stored in a temperature-controlled, moisture-free facility and are always packaged for the current and following growing seasons. You can count on 99% pure seed, with no added fillers.
Our heirloom varieties have been purposefully bred, selected, and passed down through generations, ensuring they will breed true to the parent seed. Flowers from our seeds will attract a host of beneficial insects, such as butterflies, bees, and ladybugs.
Mammoth Gray Stripe Sunflowers
Grow a garden filled with the towering Mammoth Gray Stripe Sunflower, an heirloom variety prized for its plump seeds. These annual plants can reach 6-10 feet tall, with flower heads up to 20 inches wide, featuring bright yellow petals surrounding a golden-brown center.
Sowing and Growing
Sunflowers prefer not to be transplanted, but can be started indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost and transplanted with the entire peat pot. Direct sow outdoors when the weather is warm and all danger of frost has passed.
Sunflowers require full sun and moist, well-draining soil. They grow long taproots, so be sure to address any compaction before sowing. Germination occurs within 7-10 days, and mature plants can be spaced 16-20 inches apart.
About Seed Needs
Seed Needs was founded by a 15-year-old with the goal of bringing his family closer, retiring his father, employing friends, and most importantly, helping people. We're proud to offer a wide range of open-pollinated, heirloom flowers, herbs, and vegetables, as well as continually donate to St. Jude Children's Hospital and the ASPCA.
